An Open Letter From Our CEO on COVID-9

An Open Letter From Our CEO on COVID-9

I'm reaching out to our entire infanttech family to address the evolving global COVID-19 (Coronavirus) crisis because there is nothing more important to us at infanttech than the health and safety of our people. We want you to know that we are taking steps to do our part during this time. In particular, we are committed to doing our part in staying positive, helping our community, and supporting the efforts of the health care professionals that are in the front lines.

We have diligently been following the events here in California, the USA, and around the world for the last four weeks. We have provided our employees with the availability to work remotely when possible, firstly for their health and secondly to make sure that we can still provide income to our workers. While we are a small company, we are proud to say that we are making it work and have not had to cut hours for anyone.

We want you to know that we are 100% committed to never engaging in surge pricing. We have heard many stories of retailers and websites raising their prices on high-demand items to capitalize on COVID-19 fears. Our smarttemp thermometers are a great tool for families right now, but you'll find the same value and savings no matter what happens in the coming weeks.

While many of our staff are able to telecommute, the infanttech staff that is at the office will continue to receive guidance on the best ways to prevent the spread of infection that are aligned with the World Health Organization (WHO) and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These include:

  • Cleaning hands often. We are making soap and water readily available at all times.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home if they are sick.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.

If any infanttech employee experiences symptoms such as fever or respiratory infection, they are required to stay home and seek medical treatment immediately.

Importantly, the WHO and U.S. CDC have stated that the likelihood of the COVID-19 virus contaminating cardboard or other shipping containers is low. Disinfecting shipments or using protective apparel like gloves when unwrapping the container further reduces the risk of exposure.  Our infanttech team members will be wearing gloves and taking precautionary measures to make sure any package leaving our offices are clean.

We share your concern for the global community and hope the virus will be contained and eradicated as quickly as possible. We send prayers to your family, especially those that are experiencing any loss. Please know we are with you.

We also encourage you to visit WHO’s Q&A on coronaviruses (COVID-19) and the CDC’s FAQ on the issue.

With much gratitude for being part of our infanttech family,

Lizette Espinosa Veneziano, President and CEO
